PAST DEPARTMENT COMMANDER FANG A. WONG RUNNING FOR NATIONAL COMMANDER!!!!

There has not been a National Commander from the Department of New York for 31 years. Past Department Commander Fang A. Wong has been given the OK to campaign for National Commander for the 2011-2012 year. Past Department Commander from Monroe County, Robert L. Morrill is the campaign chairman. To run for National Commander they have to raise $350,000 to pay for the travel and other expences of the campaign. If your Post is able to do anything to help this campaign it would be appreciated. Maurice Arthur is the Monroe County contact for the campaign fund raising(889-3186).

On this home page we'll introduce our organization and highlight important areas on our site. We'd like to inform you of our purpose, meetings, directions, delegate attendance, and reports on working committees.

Once a month delegates from the 39 posts in Monroe Co. meet to conduct the business of the American Legion. We try to encourage action in its many activities for the benefit of the community.

There are thousands of organizations, each with a specific purpose or goal. There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of an organization he or she believes in. If we had a Mission Statement it would have three points:

1. We are veterans who are still serving America!

2. We are veterans who wish to serve our fellow veterans and their families.

3. We are veterans who serve our communities by increasing awareness to Patriotism and veterans issues.

Our motto is: FOR GOD and COUNTRY! VETERANS STILL SERVING AMERICA!
